Against a dense urban backdrop shaped by the bustle of the city, the house presents itself as a dark, compact and restrained volume oriented to the north. The dwelling unfolds vertically around a courtyard of tropical vegetation that brings the composition together, introduces light and connects the home with the studio. Penumbra becomes a material in its own right, in dialogue with Tanizaki's sensibility. Exposed concrete, dark walnut and glazed ceramic reveal the materials in their raw state, making this unadorned architecture an essential part of domestic life.
