Within a former summer resort developed according to the garden-city model, this house occupies a large landscaped plot overlooking the woodland. Its assertive massing is based on a prismatic volume topped by an inclined plane that defines a large single-pitched roof. With its pronounced overhang, the roof extends beyond the façades to shelter the terraces. The combination of stone and timber lends the house a distinctly Alpine character. Inside, a courtyard organises a fluid and generous spatial sequence, creating a sense of domestic monumentality.
